Brighton and Hove City Council, with support from BT, are bring 40 free wi-fi hotspots to the centre of Brighton. Thirty of these are already live with the remaining set to be switched on through the summer.
They will cover the busiest parts of the city for shopping and tourism, including the seafront by the pier and Sealife centre, St James Street, West Street, Queens Road, Western Road, as well London Road to the north of the city, and parts of Hove.
This will being free unlimited wi-fi for residents and tourists while they’re out and about in the city.
BT has agreed to make the “BrightonHovefreewifi” network available at no cost to the council, but in return gets permission to install mobile infrastructure over a 10-year period.
